Skin Lift Treatment and Ankle Mobility

The beautiful thing about the dorsal surface of the foot ankle and low leg is there is not a lot of a subcutaneous adipose layer, so the affects from a skin lift technique really can quickly have a neural reflexive effect on the joint mobility.

Because you are effecting the distal parts of the long peripheral nerves of the leg you are also able to effect knee, hip, and pelvis mobility as well.

You can do this technique on yourself or your clients. It is a great thing to do before any specific joint mobilizations or manipulations too, as it makes it much easier.

Again think global- assess the hip and knee and SI joint along with the foot and ankle joints before and after just to witness all the changes.

This even can make a “tight hamstring” feel better. And if it does was it really the hamstring sending that message?

Food for thought 💭!

Knowing where to start and honoring the hierarchy of importance to the body matters in your treatment results and overall success.

I’ll be announcing my new course soon and be able to teach you the tools to have that dialogue with the body. I cannot wait for launch day! It’s coming!!

Now that I have better mobility I’m off for a beach walk and swim. 🤙🏽
