Half Kneeling Thoracic Rotations

I’m all for a good prop to create a helpful movement experience, however the common placement of a foam roll on the front leg of a half kneeling rotation often binds up the mobility making it less motion and often painful.

This is because the body is designed to couple a weight shift to the same side of the direction of rotation.

So with this in mind simply move the foam roller to the down leg! You still have the connection to the midline which is great to ensure maximum mobility at the spine and general improved stability. But now the prop will also facilitate a more efficient and effective movement pattern.

It will feel better and improve the range of motion.
